Almighty had made the earth a gleaming plain girdled with waters: in His splendor
He set the sun and the moon to be earth’s lamplight, lanterns for men, and filled
the broad lap of the world with branches and leaves; and
quickened life in every other thing that moved.”
A new Eden begins.
God didn’t just make the world once. He makes it over and over again. Each time the Father puts two new things or two people together in a special new way, the world becomes new again.
Erin Casey and Nate Cleveland become one in a covenant ceremony in a few days. From this point forward, their world is new. Eden fresh. Newly weds. The Almighty ordains and blesses such new beginnings.
As they repeat their vows, those who witness will receive a refresher course in what love is. No vague generalities here. In a marriage ceremony, love gets pretty concrete. Nothing abstract or hypothetical. This is where vows are made and promises made solid. This is where the streams of what’s said and what’s done come together into a Euphratean river called commitment. Ancient and God ordained. The cradle of life for Nate and Erin’s future has its genesis in a small Missouri town.
Parents pray that their children make good choices. Aside from choosing faith in Jesus as God’s only begotten, the choice of life partner is the second most important as I see it. One’s personal universe is created all over again on their wedding day. The two who become one will never be the same as before. Their cosmos is forever changed.
To Nate and Erin, we wish you our best and lift you up by name in our prayers. We love you and celebrate with you in this special day of your lives. It’s a new beginning for all of us.
A new Eden begins……
